Nigeria’s Ituen Basi presented her Autumn/Winter collection at the Cape Town Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and she gave a whole lot of slay factor.
With clean, professionally cut pieces, Ituen’s collection was progressive in that each piece was attentively put together to showcase African fashion in the now and in the future.
The collection was an everyday women wear, but was not just for everyday but represented a classy, unique style, somewhat ‘a don’t forget me’ look in beautiful colorful fabrics.
Ituen Basi did a really good job in the use of florals and tassels as a foundation and as accents; and of course an Ituen Basi collection would always have Ankara or African prints, her signature piece, and she beautifully blended it with chiffon and silk. I will not forget to mention the polos and blouses, how they stand out and accentuate the skirts or pants they were tucked into, they did it for me, sealing my love for the collection.
The accessories were not too much, she preferred to let the pieces do the talking.
